Yachting in Kyiv
Thanks to the presence of a strong, wide river Dnieper and a huge reservoir in Kyiv, yachting is developing. Several Kyiv yacht clubs unite fans of water sports. Periodically different yacht clubs hold sailing regattas. My photo report from the banking regatta of the Kyiv yacht club “Vodnik”.

In late spring and summer there is a demand for yacht rentals, walks along the Dnipro and Kyiv reservoir.
The Kyiv Cistern (Kyiv Sea), is a large water reservoir. It covers an area of 922 square kilometres (356 sq mi) and have is 110 km in length, 12 km in width, has a depth of four to eight meters, a volume of 3.7 km3 (0.89 cu mi), and a usable volume of 1.2 km3 (0.29 cu mi). The reservoir filled in 1964–1966 after the dam for the Kyiv Hydroelectric Power Plant was built at Vyshhorod.
